Sligo Credit Union Statement
Sligo Credit Union’s Board Oversight Committee resigned on Friday, 30th June 2023. Sligo Credit Union is required to convene a Special General Meeting (SGM) to elect an Oversight Committee, thus, fulfilling statutory obligations under the Credit Union Act 1997 (As Amended) (the ‘1997’ Act), including requirements of Section 76L of the 1997 Act.
Sligo Credit Union’s SGM takes place on Thursday, 10th August 2023, at 7.00pm via Zoom.
As a member-owned cooperative set up in 1965, Sligo Credit Union’s ethos is to serve community needs and is looking to the future. The objectives of a credit union cannot be achieved without the commitment and support of volunteers.
Credit unions are run by local people for the benefit of local communities, allowing members to borrow, save and transact at fair and reasonable interest rates. In turn, Sligo Credit Union relies a great deal on the services of local people as volunteers who commit tirelessly to the success and sustainability of the organisation.
Sligo Credit Union is looking for volunteers with financial knowledge to join on a fixed-term basis.
