August 2024 Community Fund Recipients
We are delighted to say that ten community organisations have succeeded in our 3rd round of Community Funding 2024 this year.

The successful community fund recipients demonstrated strong alignment with the funding body's goals and objectives, clear and impactful outcomes, and effective implementation plans. Sligo Credit Union's Community Fund is divided into several different categories, including:
✅ Green Initiative
✅ Arts & Culture
✅ Education
✅ Health & Wellbeing
✅ Events
Here are some examples of the successful Community Fund recipients from August, showcasing a variety of categories:
➡️ Green Initiative / Health & Wellbeing: The Sligo Cycling Campaign's project is to promote active travel and spread the word about the benefits of cycling for people and the environment.
➡️ Education: St. Brigid's National School, Drumkeerin is looking to invest in library books across the school and invest in ICT.
➡️ Arts & Culture / Community Regeneration: Sligo Global Kitchen want to renergise their project and they are looking to update the project's tools, including catering utensils, and uniforms. As well as offering barista training and CV writing to International Protection Applicants.
➡️ Health & Wellbeing: This Ability's project is simple - they want to continue providing swimming lessons for children with all disabilities in the Sligo Sports Complex.
Our Community Fund will return in late 2024 / early 2025 for another year of funding. Keep an eye out!
