➡️ Is this your first current account or have you switched current account?
I switched from Ulster Bank.
➡️ What made you choose a Sligo Credit Union current account? Were you already a member of the credit union or did you join in order to open a current account?
I became a member of Sligo Credit Union in 2013, friends had advised me this was a great way to save for our wedding.
➡️ What was your experience of switching/signing up? Can you take us through the steps?
As I already registered for online banking in previous years, I was able to log into my account and sign-up for a current account online. Everything was done online, and if I ever rang the Sligo Credit Union team, I always got through to someone who was able to help me out. After making one transaction using my pin at an ATM, I was able to use my card effortlessly. It was an easy and positive experience for me.
➡️ Do you use your credit union account for daily transactions; i.e. paying for things with debit card; etc.? What’s your main indulgence?
Yes, I use my debit card and or my digital wallet almost daily. I use it for my shopping, paying bills and my indulgence of online shopping.
➡️ Have you found yourself moving away from using cash to pay for day-to-day transactions or do you still use cash to pay in shops, restaurants etc?
I find I’m using a lot less cash and as time passes my cash transactions are becoming less frequent.
➡️ Overall, what’s been your experience using the credit union current account so far?
I love the simplicity of my Credit Union current account. I downloaded the SCU banking app, and I find this is a great tool and very easy to navigate. Things like transferring funds from one account to another, checking my balance etc. is self explanatory and simple, I love this!
Also, in general, the express lodgement is a great service and saves the hassle of queuing. The Saturday opening hours are brilliant, when I haven’t had a chance to lodge during the week, it’s great knowing I can do it on Saturday and not have to wait until the following week!!
➡️ In your opinion, what makes our product / service stand out from other options on the market?
The SCU service is very personable, the staff are extremely approachable & welcoming, making my banking experience pleasant and straightforward.
➡️ Would you recommend Sligo Credit Union’s current account to family/ friends?
Yes, I would recommend Sligo Credit Union to anyone! My positive experience banking with SCU has had a knock-on effect that now all of my family members have also opened accounts here. There is a lot to be said for simple straightforward banking!!!
➡️ Have you used your credit union debit card on holidays recently? How was the experience?
I recently went on a Mediterranean cruise, there was no issue my card on the ship or in any of the countries that we entered. It was just like being at home - being able to log into my app to check my balance at any stage was so easy and I was able to keep a close eye on my expenditure.
