Membership Eligibility

A unique feature of credit unions is that our rules require all members have a “common bond” with each other.  This reflects the fact that credit unions are mutual organisations run for the benefit of its members.

The types of common bond are as follows:

  • All members live in a particular geographical area
  • All members work for the same employer
  • A combination of both of the above
  • The rules also allow a person who is working or living in the common bond or a member of the same household of that person working or living in our common bond.

If you have any doubt about the boundaries of these areas, call into us and we can go through it with you.
