Your Credit Union encourages members to save regularly with us in a number of ways:

  • Simply call in to the office and lodge money to your account with our staff. You will be issued with a receipt for each transaction. Link to Opening Hours
  • You can save by way of salary deduction with one of the many employers in Sligo who provide this service*
  • By setting up a standing order from your bank account.

Savings Protection Scheme How Much Will I earn on my Savings?

Your savings are protected by the Savings Protection Scheme which protects the individual savings of members by making sure that the credit unions are financially and administratively sound. Participation in the Savings Protection Scheme does not confer any legal right on a credit union to receive any financial assistance under the Scheme.  Provided assistance is given under the Scheme the savings of individual credit union members may be protected up to a maximum of €12,700.

You will receive a dividend on your shares in your Credit Union. This dividend is approved by the members at each AGM and credited to your account annually – usually in December of each year. The dividend is calculated on the lowest balance in your share account each month throughout our financial year from October 1 st to September 30 th.
